my name is Zosia Krasnowolska, I was born in 1984 in Warsaw, Poland and I currently live in Wales.
I'm an analogue photographer and installation-maker.
I'm also a a co-founder of the*kickplate*project, set up with experimental photographer and camera maker Dafydd Williams to promote fine art photography and widen its audience.. as part of the project, since July 2013, I've been co-curating and co-organising exhibitions of international fine art photography..
as a curator, I have a special interest in the questions of cultural identity. having grown up in a country with a culture of religious, social and political oppression of women, I am particularly interested in the question of women’s identity and image in art.
the second subject that I find intriguing is what - and why - is considered ‘Eastern Europe’ in the West: the clash between the average perception of ‘Eastern Europe’ and the reality of it.
